Mahindra India on tuesday relaunched the Mahindra Thar in Indian market.The new 2010 Mahindra Thar CRDe is aimed at off-roading enthusiasts providing a better experience for such riders.The new Mahindra Thar CRDe comes in two variants: Mahindra Thar CRDe 4x4 BS IV and Mahindra Thar DI BS III.
Mahindra Thar Price and Launch details:The new Mahindra Thar will hit Delhi, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mangalore and Jaipur markets by the end of this month.The rest of Indian markets will get the new Mahindra Thar by january 2011.
The standard price tag of Mahindra Thar is about 4.5 lakh.The various ex-showroom prices Rs6.01 lakh in Bangalore, Rs6.28 lakhs in Mumbai and Rs5.97 lakh in Thane.

- Mahindra Thar Di 4X2 BS3 - Rs. 4.47 lakhs
- Mahindra Thar Di 4X4 BS3 - Rs. 4.97 lakhs
- Mahindra Thar CRDe 4X4 BS4 - Rs. 5.99 lakhs
Mahindra Thar Specifications and Features:
The new Mahindra Thar comes powered with a 2498 CC, NEF CRDe Turbocharged Inter-cooled Diesel engine capable of providing a maximum power 77.23 kW and a peak torque of 247 Nm.The 2.5 litre Di Diesel engine provides a maximum power of 63 Bhp power and a peak torque of 180 Nm.The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a two-speed gear reduction (HIGH 1.0:1, LOW 2.48:1) has been offered with the help of Borg Warner.Mahindra Thar also features advanced wire technology that provides variable speeds and acceleration.
Mahindra Thar DI BS III model comes in both 2 and 4 wheel drive options.
