Nissan has entered the Indian hatchback market with the launch of Nissan Micra. Nissan Micra is giving head on competition to new Swift, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo and its own brother Renault Pulse. Nissan Micra is a good looking car and is available in both petrol and diesel version. It has better space than smaller hatches like Hyundai Santro and Maruti WagonR.

Nissan Micra has a bigger suspension setup which gives it a planted and sedan like ride. The back seat is spacious and is very comfortable. 3 people can easily fit into the back seat. Nissan Micra comes with electric start/stop button which takes the hassles of starting the engine using a key. Other key features include two trip meters, automatic climate control, automatic folding rear view mirrors and 15″ alloy wheels.

Nissan Micra only disvantage is its ground clearance. Considering Indian driving conditions 154mm of ground clearance is low. Other cars in this segment are offering minimum 165mm of ground clearance. Even the new Swift now comes with 170mm of ground clearance. Nissan really needs to look into this and should fix this asap.
Nissan Micra diesel gives 15-17 kmpl of average in the city and on highways it gives 21-22 kmpl which is slightly less than other cars in its segment. The petrol engine gives between 13-15 kmpl in city and on highways it gives between 16-18 kmpl. Both Diesel and Petrol models are competively priced. Overall its a very good family car. Just go and get the one.
